Homeward go the gulls,
sailing high
as stars will be
when the hush of night
is on the sea.
Homeward go the gulls,
unerring, through
a trackless sky
to heavens where
the fledglings cry.
homeward go the gulls,
bright symbol of
a timeless plan
that mocks the
tarnished work of man.
